The Experience

I am SO glad that you thought to invite me to join this PD! I can’t remember the last time something had me this anxious, excited, and intrigued all at once… I love this! Thank you!

Journey

Designed inGenuity (DiG) is a learning framework developed to unleash the creative genius within all of us.

It was inspired by the Agile Movement that grew out of the software industry, using fast, iterative learning cycles to exponentially increase rates of learning and development. First used by Jenni Shilhanek in her seventh grade classroom, the DiG framework is now being used by educators around the world to bring learning alive.

Framework

With its focus on synthesizing abstract concepts and connecting them with personal experiences, the DiG framework develops new capacity for creative thinking

This framework draws both on ancient wisdom but also cutting-edge neuroscience that is developing new theories to help explain higher-level thinking – thinking that not only actively engages all three of our primary neural networks, the default, executive and the salience, but also challenges the brain into momentary states of criticality that lights up new neural pathways.
